History:
In the year 1943, a committee with Mr. B. James Chintamani, Mr. T. Devadathappa, Mr. Samuel Sadhu, Rev. M. Anandamurthy, Mr. Y. Samuel, Mr. D. Thiruvengadaiyya, Mr. N. Veerabhadran and Mr. W. E. Tomlinson was formed which reviewed old lyrics and also added some new lyrics based on english hymns.
In the year 1962, Karnataka Christian Council formed a committee with Mr. S. A. Mara, Rev. T. Devadathappa, Rev. I. R. Pathar, Rev. S. James, Rev. B. James Chintamani, Rev. P. J. Thomas, Rev. M. Anandamurthy, Rev. E. Hanock and Rev. S. Ratnam (secretary) who removed some old lyrics and added a few new lyrics.
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, signing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. - Colossians 3:16 (ESV)"
